Hypnosis for Insomnia and Sleep problems

Hypnosis for Insomnia and Hypnotherapy for Sleep problems in Ipswich Suffolk Hadleigh Suffolk and Colchester Essex

Dr S B sent you a message:

If you recall, we agreed to meet later in the year to work on fear of flying. My problems with a sleeping disorder that you treated are now over, and I enjoy 7-8 hours uninterrupted sleep most nights of the week.

The problems with sleep and some of the main reasons for Insomnia are that we program ourselves NOT to sleep

We go to bed and we say to ourselves things like: “I will never sleep tonight!”

We start to worry and get anxious or stressed because we think that this is downtime and an appropriate time to maybe worry about our day.

We eat late which takes 8 hours to digest so it just either gets stored as fat or gurgles away keeping us awake.

We think alcohol will help us sleep ….. Guess again!

What can be done about Insomnia? How can we get to sleep and get past sleeplessness?

I have successfully treated many sleep disorders including a 90 year old lady who was normally quite mild mannered but would fall asleep and abruptly at some point literally throw herself out of bed and eyes wide open scream filthy language at an apparent intruder.

Another girl had a sympathetic boyfriend who would listen to how she was seeing a river flowing under the bed and would solemnly gather towels and place them along the edge of the bed and say that the river was now dammed and she would close her eyes and fall asleep.Sometimes she would feel paralysed and unable to move. Her eyes were open but she was asleep.

Both these last two were suffering from Hypnagogia.

Hypnagogia is defined in Wikipedia as:

Hypnagogia is the experience of the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep: the hypnagogic state of consciousness, during the onset of sleep. In opposition, hypnopompia denotes the onset of wakefulness. The related words from the Greek are agōgos “leading”, “inducing”, pompe “act of sending”, and hypnos “sleep”.

Mental phenomena that occur during this “threshold consciousness” phase include lucid dreaming, hallucinations, and sleep paralysis.

Nightmares Night Terrors or Repetitive Dreams

I have treated many people for nightmares night terrors and used dream analysis to resolve dreams that repeat over and over:

Bruxism or tooth grinding

I have had numerous clients who suffered from bruxism or teeth grinding – they would be so tense during sleep that they would grind their teeth.

All of these sleep disorders are phenomena that are related and I use hypnosis and NLP and hypnoanalysis and dream analysis to treat insomnia – to help you handle sleeplessness and hypnagogia – night terrors and nightmares – and other sleep disorders such as bruxism.

Call me to discuss how I can help or text or email me – leave your name and number and the nature of the problem and I will call you back for a FREE telephone consultation.

I have Hypnotherapy for sleep clinics in Frinton on Sea and Manningtree in Essex and on Sundays in Hadleigh Suffolk.

I am listed on many Sleep / Insomnia sites as a specialist in sleeping disorders.
